Yellow Dendritic Opal Necklace Sterling Silver Natural Oregon Opal

Here's a new addition to our shop. I'd cut this beautiful dendritic opal many years ago and decided it was time to set it and find it's forever home. This is a beautiful and unique stone. It hails from Oregon and is known as fire opal. These opals are known for their clarity but do not have play of color like Australian opal. I cut this stone in a lightly domed triangle and set it in solid .925 sterling silver. I see it as a golden yellow with black dendrites. Artists will often antique the back of the settings for these but I like how the light reflects off the silver and through the stone (see the video) so I left it polished. The back and bail I made for this piece using my hand forged, formed and textured recycled sterling silver. The stone measures about 16 x 17 in mm. The pendant including the bail is about 24 mm tall. The pictured chain is 20 inches in length and solid sterling silver. If you love the pendant but don't need a chain you can choose the Pendant No Chain option. Pictured necklace holders/other props are not included.
