Surfite Earring, Gold Filled Ear Wires, Recycled Surf Board Resin

I made this beautiful set of earrings from surfite which is surf board resin that builds up in the manufacturing process as surf boards are spray coated. The buildup is eventually removed and either thrown out or up-cycled into jewelry. Surfite is often brighter appearing in color than fordite (it's automotive cousin) and looks markedly different due to the resin being transparent as well as clear in areas allowing light to pass through. This set of surfite earrings is paired with yellow gold filled ear wires. These are shaped in larger domed teardrops with flat backs. The stone's measure about 29 x 15 in mm. This surfite is from a manufacturer in California.
