Petrified Wood Necklace Badger Pocket Sycamore in Solid Silver

I made this stunning petrified wood necklace from what's referred to as badger pocket petrified sycamore. It's a very rare type of petrified wood found in Washington with a pattern like no other that looks almost feather like in places. I cut the stone in a domed teardrop and set it in solid sterling silver. I used a decorative gallery style bezel to hold the stone. I made the back of this pendant using recycled silver that I melted down rolled into sheet metal and then textured with a pine forest pattern. The stone is brown and cream in color with a really nice color gradient light and dark that I centered in the teardrop. If you like fossils or petrified wood this is a great addition to a collection. The included chain is solid sterling silver and is 20 inches in length. This pendant is about 34 mm tall. The stone measures about 24 x 16 in mm.
