Michigan Datolite Silver Necklace, Rare Stone from Michigan's UP

Here's a rare pinkish red datolite in solid sterling silver. I cut the stone in a domed oval and set it in solid .925 sterling silver. I use recycled sterling silver in the majority of my designs making my own hand forged and formed sterling silver sheet metal. I added an abstract texture to the back of the setting, custom made bail and the bezel that holds the stone. This is a small pendant but is not small for a datolite which are most commonly pretty small as compared to other collectable stones. This one was found in mine tailings in Michigan's UP. The stone measures about 16 x 13 in mm. The pendant is just .85 of an inch tall including the bail. The pictured solid sterling silver chain is 20 inches in length.
