Peanut Obsidian Cabochon, Domed Oval, Obsidian Cab, Metalsmithing Stone

This is a low domed oval in peanut obsidian. This type of obsidian has little round feldspar crystals within it. I love this stone for it's beautiful contrasting colors. This cab is not polished on the back side and I rounded up one edge a tiny bit to stop it from chipping so this is one for a closed back setting.

This cabochon measures: .73 H x .49 W x .16 thickness in inches or 18.7 x 12.6x 4.2 mm.

Stone cabochons can have natural imperfections. I work to limit or eliminate them in the stones I cut but you should keep in mind that natural stones are seldom perfect.
