We're a family of avid agate hunters. Agate hunting is part of our lifestyle so I truly appreciate the variety of Lake Superior Agates that can be found in our search area which is often from Black River Harbor in the UP to North of Grand Marias along Minnesota's lakeshore and also some south in Minnesota to Moose Lake and west as well as in between. The stones in these rings are all ones we found ourselves. They represent both the coveted banders in orange and white as well as some rare types and colors. All of these stones are ones I cut myself. The rings are all crafted in solid silver .925 and each one includes an element or part that is hand forged recycled silver. As rings sell I'll replace them with new ones. See below for descriptions specific to your choice.
Size 5: This ring features a rare Paradise Beach paint agate from north of Grand Marias MN. The agate is a beautiful banded type with high contrast banding in multiple colors which makes the stone really stand out. The stone is about 11 x 8 in mm. The band is textured with a pebble like design that reminds me of a pebbled beach. The ring band measures about 3 mm wide.
Size 6.25: This is a rare color for a laker as much of the stone is a very pretty yellow. This stone represents a many different types in one including fortification, banded, eyes and floater. Part of the stone is clear quartz. This stone is really gorgeous and has lots of depth. It's one you can get lost in. The agate measures about 12 x 9 in mm. The band of this ring is textured. I lightly antiqued this ring to bring out the detail in the bands texture. This stone is from the UP of Michigan.
Size 7: This beautiful little agate is a perfect example of the coveted orange and white banded Lake Superior agate that no matter their size always appeals to agate hunters. This stone has very nice colors banding and contrast. It measures about 9 x 9 in mm.
Size 8: This is a beautiful and very unique Lake Superior agate. It's a moss type with a very unique pattern within the stone that looks similar to color cells you sometimes see in opals. This stone is a very pretty lighter orange and with the structures in it is one you'll admire close up often. I crafted the silver ring to include a textured band that's about 3mm across. I textured the top of the ring setting where it's flared as well in an abstract pattern. I antiqued the setting to bring out the patterns in the texture. This is a one of a kind agate. I haven't found any others quite like it. It was a Wisconsin trail find.
Size 9: This agate says earthly elegance to me. It's a beautiful orange with great banding running throughout the stone. This one was a northwest Wisconsin trail find. I built the setting for this agate to compliment it and show it's rustic beauty. The band is thicker at just under 4 mm wide and around 2 mm thick. The band and the underside of the stone setting are both textured. I antiqued the silver (intentionally darkening) to bring out the patterns in the texture. The stone is about 16 x 8 in mm.
