Lake Superior Eye Agate Necklace in Solid Sterling Silver .925

I found the agate in this solid silver necklace on a northern Wisconsin trail. I find it both beautiful and strangely lifelike. I knew this one was special as soon as I picked it up. When cutting and shaping this stone I pretty much kept it's original shape. The giant eye was the only defining feature in this agate. The outside is deep orange with a white center and little orange dot in the middle of the white. It also has some white and orange streaks within the white center of the stone. It's the nicest eye agate I've found to date. I was thinking about how it looks like a real eye when designing the solid silver setting for it. You'll see what I mean by just turning the piece to the side. :) I made the back of the piece with my hand forged and formed solid sterling silver which I made from recycled sterling. The stone is held by a decorative bezel. I added a pebble like design to the front of the piece which in this case accentuates the overall eye look of the piece. The pictured chain is 20 inches in length and is also solid sterling silver. I craft all of my jewelry by hand in my home studio. This pendant measures about 1.5 inches or 38 mm tall. The agate is about 15 mm across. This is a rare stone so I'm unlikely to be able to replicate this piece. It's incredible with unique features and great contrast in the colors.
