Lake Superior Agate Necklace Red Moss and White Banding in Sterling Silver

This elegant Lake Superior agate sterling sliver necklace features a red moss agate with white banding and a tiny geode area. These true red lakers are fairly rare with most being different shades of orange. I found the agate I cut this stone from at the Rock and Art shop in St. Cloud. Whomever owned it previously had lacquered the rough agate at some point in the past making it look dull so it was a pleasant surprise when I cut this one. At over a pound I'll be making beautiful jewelry from this unique agate it for years to come! I shaped this piece in a domed oval. The solid silver setting is made with my hand forged and formed recycled sterling silver. I added a texture to the back and the bail I made for it. I antiqued the silver (intentional darkened) before polishing the piece to bring out the detail in the recessed areas.  The pictured chain is 20 inches in length and is solid sterling silver. The bail opening is about 2.9 mm. If you love the pendant but don't need a chain you can choose the pendant no chain option. The agate measures about 24 x 18 in mm. Please note the option to choose not to add a chain makes it appear I have two of these in stock there is only one available. 

Our stones are mirror polished and so there will be reflections in the pictures. We take pictures in direct bright light that simulates what your stone will look like in direct sunlight. Stones look very different in low or artificial light. If it's dark when you receive them you can use the flashlight feature on your smart phone to see what they will look like in daylight. If you are new to semi precious stones please understand that these stones are natural and were found or dug from the earth. These are not faceted altered or manmade stones you see in stores. Natural stones (especially agates) may have features that would be considered flaws in a faceted stone or manufactured stone. Natural stones can have internal fractures, natural holes or geode areas. If there are features we as professional lapidary artists feel may detract from a stone we do our best to describe them in the listing description and show them in the pictures.We charge based on size and quality of the stone as well as market factors.
