Fordite Set with Pink in Solid Sterling Silver, Fordite Necklace

This fordite necklace and earring set has great color including the new pink tuscadero from the line of vehicles painted at the plant at Parkway Toledo Ohio. The pendant and earring stones are domed ovals with flat backs. The earring settings are about 13 mm tall. The pendant measures about 30 x 17 overall. The components for these are all solid sterling silver. I cut shaped and polished the fordite stones as well as handcrafted the silver settings for these. The ear wires are tarnish resistant argentium sterling silver, a premium option that is resistant to tarnish making them easy to care for. The chain is solid 925 sterling silver. Fordite is recycled automotive paint sourced primarily from automotive factories. It forms in thin layers as car parts are painted on the racks that hold them in place. After hundreds of trips through the booth where the paint is sprayed then baked the excess buildup is scraped off the racks. We buy this waste paint in rough chunks and recycle it into beautiful jewelry. It’s said it takes almost a thousand layers of paint to make a one inch thick piece of fordite. The original fordite came from Ford Motors in Detroit hence the name Ford-ite. Fordite from prior to 1978 can contain lead. All of our fordite is either current or from the early 2000’s so it’s not lead based paint.

Shipping: The free shipping for our shop is USPS Ground Advantage. The upgraded shipping is USPS Priority Mail. The charge for upgrading shipping covers the increased shipping cost to send priority mail. Keep in mind we have no control over USPS shipping times or errors. Both shipping choices include tracking. USPS tracking includes a GPS signature when the package is scanned delivered. You are responsible for ensuring the safety of your packages once they are scanned delivered.
