Bracelet Choice

This listing allows you to pick your fordite bracelet with several different colors available from different manufacturing plants. See below for the location and type for each bracelet choice. I cut and polished the fordite stones in domed rounds that are about 20 mm across. The bracelet setting is stainless steel. This is an adjustable bracelet. I add the chain and pinch bead to these to make them easier to put on by yourself. You adjust the bracelet by moving the slide bead. Open the bracelet by holding the chains above the bead in one hand and gently sliding the bead down until the bracelet fits over your hand comfortably. Then gently pinch the bead upwards with your other hand. To know if this bracelet will fit over your hand measure around your hand at it's widest point (usually at the base of your thumb across and around. If it's 9.75 inches or less these should fit. Brian can put it on his wrist without any trouble. As these sell I update the listing with new bracelets of different colors/types so check back now and then to see what's available. Bracelet only, 1 bracelet per quantity of 1 purchased. The bracelet will ship in a jewelry box suitable for gifting. Picture props are not included.

Bracelet 1: This fordite is from lower Michigan and occurred at a manufacturer who paints parts such as bumper flairs and grills that are then shipped to different factories here in the US. This fordite type has very thin layers and colors in red, blue, black and silver with lots of silver metal flake in the paint.

Bracelet 2: This stone is one I made with pieces of fordite in blue resin. It has pieces of wranglerite-fordite from Toledo Ohio and freightliner fordite from Chillicothe.

Bracelet 3: I cut this one from Chillicothe fordite that occurred when painting parts for freightliner semi's. This type is known for lots of color interspersed with white.

Bracelet 4: I made this fordite stone from fordite from the plant on HWY 69 in Claycomo Missouri. All the yellow in this paint is rare and occurred while painting the transit line of camper vehicles.

Bracelet 5: This is a very rare cut of fordite from the St. Paul MN ranger plant that occurred in the year before the plant was closed. This Ford-ite stone has lots of red layers and some gunmetal silver right on top of the stone.

Fordite is recycled automotive paint sourced from automotive factories as well as manufacturers who paint parts for new vehicles. It forms in thin layers as car parts are painted on the racks that hold them in place. After hundreds of trips through the booth where the paint is sprayed and then baked the excess buildup is scraped off the racks. We buy this waste paint in rough chunks and recycle it into beautiful jewelry. It can take hundreds of layers of paint to make a one inch thick piece of fordite. The original fordite came from Detroit and since then it’s also synonymously known as Detroit Agate. There is very little fordite that is truly vintage. Most that’s available is modern i.e. current or within the past 15 years. We prefer modern fordite as it’s water rather than lead based paint. There are many different fordite types and some are more valuable than others. You’ll find in our fordite listings we refer to the plant location that the fordite originated from rather than listing specific auto manufacturers or vehicles. You can easily google the plant location and get a list of vehicles painted there. We love to talk fordite so if you are looking for a specific type or color odds are we have it so please send us a message. All of our fordite is authentic.

Descriptions: If you'd like a fordite description included with your order please leave a note when you buy and we'll include one specific to the piece you purchase.
