Concretion Necklace, Natural Funky Earth Creations Pendant, W/O

Concretions are naturally formed clay based shapes made up of natural clay, iron oxides, lime, sand and often contain tiny pebbles. They are formed under intense pressure and found in areas near clay banks. There is a false statement that often prevails the internet that concretions are no longer found or collected as they occur only on tribal lands. I believe this misinformation originated from a great lakes rocks and minerals book and is subsequently perpetuated by people selling concretions who like to make others feel that they are more rare or valuable than they actually are. The truth is that concretions are often and always were also found on public and private lands on Lake Superior's south shore in both Wisconsin and the UP. They can also be found in other areas of the world and the USA. They are an uncommon find but are still being found and legally collected on non tribal lands. I've found hundreds of them in the UP of Michigan specifically especially recently with high water levels eroding the tall clay banks adjacent to the shore where they formed. Concretions of this type are thought to be roughly 10,000 years old. These concretion pendants are drilled and secured with leather cords with stainless steel components. The cords are about 20 inches in length. Concretions are collectible as rock and mineral specimens  and can come in many different shapes. I chose these four for their bird like shapes. I clear coated the concretions with an acrylic sealer to protect them.

Shipping: The free shipping for our shop is USPS Ground Advantage. The upgraded shipping is USPS Priority Mail. The charge for upgrading shipping covers the increased shipping cost to send priority mail. Keep in mind we have no control over USPS shipping times or errors. Both shipping choices include tracking. USPS tracking includes a GPS signature when the package is scanned delivered. You are responsible for ensuring the safety of your packages once they are scanned delivered. 

Returns: Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Buyer pays return shipping. Return shipping must have tracking. Email us to initiate a return.

Packaging: We package our jewelry securely so it will arrive safe. Jewelry is shipped in a jewelry box. Cabochons are shipped primarily in small containers rather than jewelry boxes. If you are buying multiple pieces for gifts and need boxes for each item please mark the order as a gift or message us with what you prefer. Otherwise we will ship multiple items in a single jewelry box.
