Lake Superior Horn Coral Cabochon, Ella's Collection, W/O

This listing is one I've added to allow Ella to sell some of her found stones that I've polished for her. This is a really beautiful Lake Superior horn coral. We find quite a few of these over the course of each year but. They are usually softer stones with lots of little druzy pockest that make them unsuitable for jewelry stones. This one is highly silicified giving it a nice smooth surface and some depth to it's natural structure. The colors look like a mix of cream white, clear, and beige. It's a really pretty stone that's also unique. I cut it in a domed oval. All sides are polished. It measures about 17 x 11.3 x 5.6 in mm. It's a nice size that would make a nice ring or small pendant. 

Stone cabochons can have natural imperfections. I work to limit or eliminate them in the stones I cut but you should keep in mind that natural stones are seldom perfect.
