This agate hails from South Dakota and is known as a Teepee Canyon agate. Some also do call them South Dakota Dry Head agate not to be confused with the Montana verstion. It formed in voids in light brown chert. This piece is a beautiful orange and red with a smokey quartz center and is really an amazing representation of this agate type. These agates are uncommon so you don't see them as jewelry very often. I cut this stone in a domed teardrop and set it in solid sterling silver. The pictured 20 inch chain is also solid sterling silver. If you love the pendant but don't need a chain choose the "pendant no chain" option. This pendant measures 1.19 x .55 inches or is 29 mm tall.

If you are new to semi precious stones please understand that these stones are natural and were found or dug from the earth. These are not faceted altered or manmade stones you see in stores. Natural stones (especially agates) may have features that would be considered flaws in a faceted stone or manufactured stone. Natural stones can have internal fractures, natural holes or geode areas. If there are features we as professional lapidary artists feel may detract from a stone we do our best to describe them in the listing description and show them in the pictures.We charge based on size and quality of the stone as well as market factors. We don’t dabble in the art of stone cutting. Brain is a full time lapidary artist so if you buy from us you are buying a high quality stone made by an experienced professional artist. Shipping: The free shipping for our website is USPS First Class Shipping 2-6 day delivery time depending on your distance from our home in Wisconsin. The upgraded shipping is USPS Priority Mail. The charge for upgrading shipping covers the increased shipping cost to send priority mail. Priority mail is estimated at 2-3 days for delivery. Keep in mind we have no control over USPS shipping times or errors. Priority mail includes $100 in insurance. Both shipping choices have tracking provided. USPS tracking includes a GPS signature when the package is scanned delivered. You are responsible for ensuring the safety of your packages once they are scanned delivered. We most often mail orders the next business day. If we take a vacation we adjust our shipping time accordingly. Check our shop announcement for updates. We will only ship to the address on the order.

Returns: We offer free returns within 14 calendar days of the day your order is marked delivered by USPS. If you'd like to return an item please reach out to us within your return window.

Packaging: We package our jewelry securely so it will arrive safe. Jewelry is shipped in a jewelry box. Cabochons are shipped primarily in small containers rather than jewelry boxes. If you are buying multiple pieces for gifts and need boxes for each item please mark the order as a gift or message us with what you prefer. Otherwise we will ship multiple items in a single jewelry box.
