Fordite Rings, Chevy Vette Fordite Channel Rings, Pick Your Ring/Size
Fordite Rings, Chevy Vette Fordite Channel Rings, Pick Your Ring/Size
These fordite rings are made with Chevy vette fordite from the plant in Bowling Green KY from the early 2000's. These are wide band channel rings at about 8 mm across. Wide bands tend to fit more snug than thin engagement style rings. I recommend you know your size before ordering. You can purchase a ring sizer online for about $5 or visit a local jewelry store where they often will assist you for free. These are stainless steel bands. Choose your size. The ring pictured an numbered corresponding to your choice is the ring you'll receive. These channel rings look great on anyone! Channel rings are really cool but they do need special consideration when wearing them to avoid damage. Think of channel them as style rings and akin to fine jewelry. You should remove it any time you are working with tools, getting dirty, or lifting heavy things because the stones go around under your fingers as well so anything you rub against or grip will make contact with the stones in the ring. If you'd like a fordite ring that can take a beating check out my steel and or silver bezel set rings (stone on top).

Fordite is recycled automotive paint sourced from automotive factories as well as manufacturers who paint parts for new vehicles. It forms in thin layers as car parts are painted on the racks that hold them in place. After hundreds of trips through the booth where the paint is sprayed and then baked the excess buildup is scraped off the racks. We buy this waste paint in rough chunks and recycle it into beautiful jewelry. It can take hundreds of layers of paint to make a one inch thick piece of fordite. The original fordite came from Detroit and since then it’s also synonymously known as Detroit Agate. There is very little fordite that is truly vintage. Most that’s available is modern i.e. current or within the past 15 years. We prefer modern fordite as it’s water rather than lead based paint. There are many different fordite types and some are more valuable than others. You’ll find in our fordite listings we refer to the plant location that the fordite originated from rather than listing specific auto manufacturers or vehicles. You can easily google the plant location and get a list of vehicles painted there. We love to talk fordite so if you are looking for a specific type or color odds are we have it so please send us a message. All of our fordite is authentic.
